RADON
I can provide you with EPA approved test kits.—($40 or $50 for dbl).
These are not the cheap, useless kits that many inspectors hand out for free as
an inducement to hire them.
LEAD TESTING
Our State laws forbid Home Inspectors to provide any form of lead paint testing. I can refer you to the best companies that have invested in XRF technology and do not rely on simple Lead Sulfide reagent as an indicator of Pb content.
ASBESTOS TESTING & ABATEMENT
Our State laws forbid Home Inspectors to provide any form of Asbestos sampling or evaluations. This is done by Industrial Hygienists or licensed abaters.
PEST EXTERMINATION
I can refer you to the best companies.
WATER QUALITY
Water quality is rarely a concern in the Boston area. However, I can take samples and send them to a lab.
HEALTHY HOME TESTING
There is an excessive abundance of untrained, and poorly trained individuals who tout meaningless credentials and certificates obtained by taking some quickie classes relating to mold and other environmental concerns. If you have reasonable,realistic and informed concerns about MOLD and ALLERGENS I will be happy to refer you to a highly regarded expert. I am well educated in this matter and also have clinical diagnostic experience in bacteriology and mycology but do not involve myself in these matters as they are not part of a home inspection and Commonweath of Massachusetts regulations specifically exclude mold and other environmental testing from required procedures during a home inspection.
ENVIRONMENTAL DATA REPORTS
I can provide you with reports that disclose a variety of concerns in the vicinity of the property you are considering purchasing. It identifies specific addresses and environmental hazards.
